The Design
“Quick, woolly warmth.”
It’s not just a name—the Last-Minute Cowl will knit up right quick! Use large needles, a super-chunky-weight yarn (or a chunky-weight held double), and choose a stitch from the free pattern—seed stitch or two-by-two rib. The results are nearly instantaneous—and incredibly warm! Knit one to give, give one to knit, or treat yourself.
We’ve doubled Brooklyn Tweed Quarry—a chunky-weight yarn spun from 100% Targhee Columbia wool—in two versions of our Last-Minute Cowl. In one, we marled two colors of Quarry together in two-by-two ribbing for a cowl with fantastic, stand-up structure. In the other, we picked one color for a dense, squishy seed stitch version. Light, lofty, yet wonderfully insulating, roving-inspired Quarry shines in both!
